Upstanders Rock!
A high energy and interactive assembly that helps students understand that their roles as Upstanders (not bystanders) in their school will help keep their school safe and bully-free.
This is NOT another anti-bullying "lecture" assembly. It is a presentation packed with interactive demonstrations and motivating hands on challenges to get students involved in doing the right thing when interacting with friends and peers.
Here are just a few of the exciting things that your students will see and participate in:
- Students will be invited to dress up as "adults" in a demonstration about reporting bullying to an adult you trust.
- Volunteers will create a larger than life "human video game" on stage to illustrate that life is not like a video game - there are no do-overs.
- There will be eye-opening demonstrations of how quickly rumors, put-downs, and text messages (for older audiences) can spread.
- The entire audience will work together to accomplish a goal that shows that the entire school must work together as upstanders.
Specific Topics and Discussions In This Program, Include:
- Identifying Types of Bullying
- Reporting Bullying To An Adult
- Respecting Other People
- Encouraging Peers and Avoiding Put-Downs
This show is currently based out of Michigan, but the presenter travels to schools across the country every school year for school assemblies. Contact us for dates and availability for your district.

"The presentation was very entertaining and captured the interest of all the children. I appreciated that the performer worked with our positive behavior theme of BEAR, and reinforcing the expectations and rules of our school."

"We had positve feedback from teachers and parents who felt the presenter did a very good job of presenting the messages and incorporating appropriate and good humor to keep the audience's attention. The experience with Midwest School Shows was positive and we would book another show in the future."

Bullying is a huge problem in schools across the country, and Midwest School Shows is committed to helping school districts develop and reinforce bullying prevention policies and positive behavior expectations in schools. We believe the best way for students to make a difference in their school is by focusing on positive behavior and interactions with peers. Our assemblies are a blend of entertainment and motivating message that every student can learn and grow from.
Other "positively rockin'" anti-bullying and Character Counts assemblies offered from Midwest School Shows:
- Super U! Challenge: A show about respecting peers and no bullying others that is in the style of a kids TV game show. There are unique and energetic challenges that students participate in to help reinforce why it is important to "treat others the way you want to be treated.
- Also be sure to check out the popular You've Got Character Show.
