A musical and fun way to meet Social Studies and Geography curriculum requirements

This assembly show is a musical and exciting introduction into World Geography and Social Studies for students of all ages. Musical presenter, Harpbeat, takes elementary students on a fantastic, musical tour of the world. The centerpiece of all the music is a large harp, played by musician Donna Novack. As they take their musical world tour, students get the participate in songs and even try their hand and different percussion instruments from around the world in the toe-tapping assembly program.

A musical enrichment assembly that celebrates cultural diversity, this school program can be featured throughout the school year. Students will visit 7 Continents, hear several different languages, learn about different cultures, and have hands on introductions to an assortment of ethnic instruments. It is a program that gets elementary students excited about the World, Geography, and Social Studies, while helping them appreciate and understand other cultures. Most importantly, the messages and themes are grade level appropriate.

A standard 45-minute school program includes "visits" to 6 to 7 different countries from the list below. Your school can request specific countries be included in your assembly program, allowing you to coordinate the show with current countries and cultures being studied in class.

Around the World In a Harpbeat is an assembly program created for elementary students in grades Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. To get the most out of the program, it is recommended that you schedule two assembly programs - one for lower elementary and one for upper elementary. By dividing the assembly audience into two programs, Harpbeat can choose songs and content that is more specific and appropriate for the grade levels.
